DSNI Open House!

On February 8, 2019, we hosted over 200 residents (of all ages!), local business owners, nonprofit leaders, and other stakeholders for our annual open house. We all enjoyed the music from the Sheila Del Bosque Trio and great food representing different cultures.

Former DSNI Youth Development Director and current interim Executive Director talked about coming home to DSNI to get us to where we are -- with a new strategic plan and ready to hire youth summer staff. (Watch this space for youth opportunities!)

Board Chair Keila Barros welcomed everyone and gave an update. She announced the search for our next Executive Director! (If you or someone you know is interested, please link here EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.)

And Dudley Neighborhood Incorporated (DNI) Land Trust Board Chair Evelyn Correa-Gonzalez talked about the essential work that the land trust does -- joining the organizing work of DSNI to the  development tool of DNI to ensure resident-controlled housing and economic development. Today the DNI land trust holds 227 units of permanently affordable housing, urban farming lots, and many additional community assets. And, yes, the land trust continues to grow!

We also announced the date of the annual board meeting: Wednesday,  June 26, 2019. Please, save the date!
