From the Director: Nominations for the next Board of Directors

Dear DSNI Friends,

The structure of our Board of Directors is a true testament to how we value resident leadership and control. Every two years, the community elects our 35-member Board. The Board consists of representatives from each of the major ethnic groups in our community-African-Americans, Cape Verdeans, Latinos and Whites, as well as seats for youth (ages 14-17), local non-profits, CDCs, businesses and religious institutions. As part of the Board, members oversee the financial stability and strategic direction of the organization. Board election is held during our Annual Meeting, which will take place this year on Wednesday June 26th @ 6:00pm @ St. Patrick’s Church in Roxbury. Please save the date!

If you live within our target area of Roxbury and North Dorchester, you still have time to nominate yourself or a neighbor for the Board! Click here for the nomination form and more information.

If you are interested in learning more about the Board and our upcoming Annual Meeting please contact Jose Barros: JBarros@dsni.org.

We hope to see you on June 26th!

Best,

Denise Barros

Interim Executive Director
